The Office of the President |

Greetings Churchites, friends, and well-wishers:
Church Teachers College, Alma Mater for many of us, will be celebrating 45 years
of excellence in education and professional development during the College’s
Founders’ Week, February 20 – 25, 2011. As we see this as a most appropriate
event for acknowledging the priceless contributions to education in Jamaica and
all over the world, we think it a fitting opportunity to be a part of the event.
While many members have remained in the teaching profession, some graduates of
our Alma Mater have become very successful in private business, exhibiting
remarkable entrepreneurial fortitude. Whatever the path, countless have made
gallant strides to perpetuate the Alumni spirit, thus benefitting many peoples
and societies.

In commending the efforts and achievements of our alumni, friends and
well-wishers of the College, we also commit ourselves to building a world class
Alumni Association by reconnecting and reviving that kindred spirit which we
nostalgically crave. To this end, we have been meeting since last year January
to establish a durable organization and are happy to report that in September
2010 Church Teachers College Alumni Association Inc (CTCAA) was incorporated in
the State of Florida with a vision of many viable chapters mushrooming all over
the world! ter in Jamaica was recently revived under the guidance of an
ambitious team of alumni including Ramonia Smith, who is President-Elect.
Ramonia is a member of the CTCAA Board of Directors and lecturer at the College.
Supporting both her and the Alumni Association is a Steering Committee based at
the College. Also on the team is Garth Anderson, Alumnus and Principal. We are
certainly fortunate to have this professional and excellent team involved in
fulfilling our goals.
An expression of profound gratitude is extended to all who have helped to
establish, guide and serve this great institution over the decades. We accept
that higher heights are within the reaches of our Alma Mater and now call upon
you, our past students, to RETURN TO RECIPROCATE (R2R) by participating in the
following events:
- Founders’ Week which will take place at the College culminating with Alumni Day
on Friday, February 25 at which the General Meeting and Social of the Jamaican
chapter will be held.
- The official launch of the Alumni Association scheduled for July 22 – 24, 2011.
Blessings always,
Mike
