The Evening Institute of Church Teachers’ College had its inception in September
1979. It was developed to facilitate the expansion of learning opportunities for
students who did not achieve the desired result in the Caribbean Secondary Examination
Council (CSEC) Examination, or who had failed to attain the matriculation requirements
for entry into specific academic programmes of the college.
The objectives of the Institute are as follows:
- To provide a ‘second chance’ for persons- usually young working adults, to complete
their secondary education by pursuing subjects in the Caribbean Secondary Examination
Council examinations (CSEC)
- To accommodate the work schedule of employed individuals who engage in its program
offerings; thus enabling them to earn requisite skills whilst practicing their profession.
