At Church Teachers’ College, the primary mission of Health Services is to scaffold the physical and emotional health of our students and staff. Our goal is to promote the safety and general health of the College Community. The Health Service Team is comprised of a fully qualified Guidance Counsellor, a Chaplain and a Registered Nurse. |
The School Nurse is employed full-time by the College to serve the needs of students and staff in general. A furnished Sick-Bay facilitates the remediation of minor health issues. For more serious medical concerns and emergencies, a Doctor is on call 24 hours daily, and is conveniently located in close proximity to the College. The Sick-Bay hours of operation are: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mondays to Thursdays and 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays. |
| Mandeville has two hospitals where out-patient, as well as in- service care, is provided. Mandeville Regional Hospital is a public facility. Hargreaves Memorial is a privately operated hospital and thus attracts service fees. These two hospitals are within ten (10) minutes from the College. Additionally, other health care facilities are also locally available, including dental, psychiatric, paediatric and optical care. Students are responsible for any medical bills they incur at these treatment facilities. Standard insurance coverage is afforded to both students and staff.
In the event of an emergency, students should contact the Nurse.
