The College is concerned with the physical and emotional health of the student as
well as the promotion of individual and general health and safety in the College
community. A Registered Nurse is employed full-time and a Sick-Bay is furnished
adjacent to Spathodia Hall. A doctor visits the College twice per month, on every
first and third Thursday. A fully qualified Guidance Counsellor and a Chaplain together
with the Nurse, make up the health Service Team. |
The Sick-Bay hours are 8:00 am to
4:30 pm Mondays to Thursday and 8:00 am to 3:30 pm on Fridays. Mandeville has two
hospitals where out-patient, as well as in-service care, is provided. Other health
care facilities are also locally available, including dental, psychiatric, pediatric
and optical care. Students are personally responsible for any medical bills they
incur. However life insurance coverage is provided for
by the college. | |
| In the event of an emergency, students should contact the Nurse or nearest
Resident Member of Staff immediately.
